For all the iTunes fans out there, there is an alternative you need to check out. As most people know, Amazon.com has been selling books (along with just about everything else) for well over ten years. They are an Internet original. But did you know Amazon.com offers digital music? With Amazon’s new MP3 download service, you now have a compelling alternative to iTunes.
The most significant difference between the two services is that Amazon offers music in the standard MP3 digital music format. This allows you to play any digital music purchased from Amazon on any digital music player, regardless of brand. Digital music purchased from iTunes can only be played on an Apple iPod music player. Another advantage Amazon has over iTunes is that all the songs offered by Amazon are free of any copy protection. This means you are free to make unlimited back-up copies and burn audio CD’s of all your purchased music. Although iTunes does offer some of their downloads without copy protection, it is only on a limited selection of their overall inventory and you do pay a premium for that convenience.
Last but certainly not least, Amazon.com MP3’s cost less across the board. So if your interested in saving some money on your next digital music purchase and want free and unlimited use of your music, check out Amazon.com MP3 Downloads.
