How many times have you come across a particularly useful website that is full of information but you are only interested in a small specific portion that you wanted to save send to a friend or colleague? While you can always email a link to the page, your recipient is often confused since they are required to scan the entire page when you are only trying to highlight a certain section.
AwesomeHighlighter.com is a new free service that gives you the ability to highlight text on any web page and creates a small link to the highlighted section of that page. The link can then be sent in an email or saved as a bookmark for later reference. You can even add a Post-It like note to your selection to include any specific descriptive information you may want to add. Not only is this service free, there is no cumbersome registration required to use the service, unless you want to save your highlighted pages. You can even choose the color of your highlighter.
I welcome your comments regarding your experiences with the Awesome Highlighter.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t know how many times I’ve run into this or been sent something that at first seemed totally irrelevant just to find 3 sentences that applied to my situation. I’ll definitely be sharing this with others.

Extremely cool! I have never seen this before. Not sure if or when or how I’d use it, but it’s very clever and I will remember it.
