I’m sure many of you, like me, who are frequent users of the Internet have had your share of problems with viruses, spyware and other malicious and unwanted “modifications” that seem to find their way onto your computer. This, in turn, tends to significantly slow your online activities and in some cases cause major operating system and software issues. This can get so bad that you may have had to take the drastic and time consuming step of reinstalling your Windows operating system and start fresh. I know I have and it’s not fun.
Well, I recently came across an offering from Microsoft that many of you, who rely on Windows XP as your operating system, may not be aware of that is designed to automatically revert your system back to it’s original state if you run into any of these malicious software related issues. It’s a free download called Windows “SteadyState” which essentially allows you to set-up a locked-down platform by way of separate user accounts. Once you have everything set up the way you want it, you can share the computer and rest easy. Any changes a user might make to the configuration or hard disk can be undone by simply restarting the machine. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been using Twitter for a couple of months now and have come to the conclusion that Twitter is a digital, internet age version of the office water cooler but way more powerful.
Twitter is basically a “micro-blog” platform designed to offer it’s users a quick and easy way to enter short, timely messages (140 characters or less) to describe what they’re doing, feeling and/or thinking about. Think of it as a digital water cooler for the Internet generation. You also have full privacy controls regarding who sees your Twitter profile and who can read your entries. The beauty of Twitter is its simplicity. If you can email, you can use Twitter. Far beyond the fun aspects of Twitter, there are some key reasons why I use it and why I think you need to especially if you have a blog and are interested in driving traffic. For all the iTunes fans out there, there is an alternative you need to check out. As most people know, Amazon.com has been selling books (along with just about everything else) for well over ten years. They are an Internet original. But did you know Amazon.com offers digital music? With Amazon’s new MP3 download service, you now have a compelling alternative to iTunes.
The most significant difference between the two services is that Amazon offers music in the standard MP3 digital music format. This allows you to play any digital music purchased from Amazon on any digital music player, regardless of brand. Digital music purchased from iTunes can only be played on an Apple iPod music player. Another advantage Amazon has over iTunes is that all the songs offered by Amazon are free of any copy protection. This means you are free to make unlimited back-up copies and burn audio CD’s of all your purchased music. Although iTunes does offer some of their downloads without copy protection, it is only on a limited selection of their overall inventory and you do pay a premium for that convenience.
Last but certainly not least, Amazon.com MP3’s cost less across the board. So if your interested in saving some money on your next digital music purchase and want free and unlimited use of your music, check out Amazon.com MP3 Downloads.

MartyYou should realize that your prospects do not buy from you based on how snazzy your website is or how brilliant your graphics are. They buy because you can convince them that THERE’S SOMETHING IN IT FOR THEM!
Show them how their lives will be enhanced, how much better they will feel or how their bank balance will benefit by investing in your product. Prospective customers can be wooed at the two most basic of levels: Money or Emotion.
1. On your website or in your newsletter, paint a picture of your product so vivid and desirable that the reader can actually visualize what it would be like if they had already bought the product in your ad. Tell them what results they have achieved and how it makes them feel. They’ll become emotionally attached even before they hit the ‘Buy Now’ button or the link to the affiliate product.
