For all you iPhone users out there, I’d like to share one of my most favorite free apps for keeping and organizing all sorts of lists. Zenbe Lists is a free and easy-to-use iPhone app designed to let you create multiple lists of items or tasks and automatically sync it to a free web based account. This feature allows you to share lists online with other users you specify. The sync feature also provides the benefit of an online back-up of any lists you create on your iPhone using the free Zenbe iPhone client. Simply search “Zenbe” in the App Store on iTunes to download.

As mentioned above, the sharing options makes Zenbe Lists great for people who need to access and edit common lists. That means anyone who has access to a particular list can edit, add or delete items and the changes are Immediately visible to all assigned users. This eliminates any confusion over who has the latest version, common problem with paper lists.

Sharing can also be done via email. A simple tap of the “share” button in the Zenbe Lists client on your iPhone creates an email message that contains a link of the list your want to share. Anyone with an iPhone with Zenbe Lists installed can then open the list by clicking on the link and save a copy of the list in their Zenbe Lists.

If you don’t need advanced task management or list creation features, Zenbe Lists provides a simple and straight forward option for managing multiple to-do lists. But it’s the iPhone app’s online syncing and sharing that is the killer feature.  The best part is that it’s free which makes it a cool tool for keeping your grocery and to-do lists synced between multiple devies and availbale on the web without dealing with all those paper scraps.

Have you ever wished there was a way for you to be able to quickly communicate news and information to a large group of people without having to call each individual person? Maybe you’re the leader of a social or work group and you need to get the word out quickly about a change in plans? Well, a new company focused on simplifying group communication has just launched a new and innovative free service into private beta.  The company, Tatango, Inc, is offering the ability for anyone to collect, manage and mobile message all of their group members from both a mobile phone or a computer via their website at Tatango.com.

Tatango launched into private beta as of July 15.  As a recent company press release states:

…Tatango was born from the promise of giving groups the ability to stay connected anytime, anywhere via SMS. The Tatango service doesn’t require any special phone or its users to download any software to use the service. The service is completely free and ad supported, Tatango places 30 character text ads at the bottom of group messages, costing you no more than a standard text message to receive a group alert. However, the advertisements can be removed from group messages at a low monthly fee…

Visual voicemail is one of the more intriguing features of Apple’s iPhone.  The only problem is you have to be an AT&T Wireless customer and have to cough up the money for the iPhone itself to enjoy the benefits and convenience of visual based voicemail.  For all the rest of us who have smart phones other than the iPhone, there’s a new free alternative available that offers visual voicemail to anyone for free.  The service is called YouMail and it offers a ton of interesting and useful features.

Visual Voicemail

Instead of listening to voice prompts and having to wade through messages you may not want to listen to, visual voicemail presents your messages in list form either on your phone or in a web browser on your computer. You can now see who called, where they called from and even their picture.  This way, you can easily pick and choose which message to listen to in a random access fashion. With it’s simple and easy to use web based interface you can post quick text messages to a world wide audience or just your circle of friends. File Dropper.com

I came across a cool web based file sharing tool from File Dropper.com that offers ultra low cost, unlimited file hosting (up to 5 GB per file) up to a total of 250 GB. You can assign different levels of access permissions ranging from public, password protected and private. An email option is available as well to email a link to anyone you want to have access to your files.

I quickly registered for an account and uploaded a couple of files to give it a try. Seems to work well. I was able to upload and retrieve files easily.

David Allen, well known productivity consultant, is the creator of the Getting Things Done time management method. The above video is a presentation he gave to an audience at Google last October on GTD (Getting Things Done) and the two keys to sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

David Allen, 62, grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and attended New College of Florida, in Sarasota, Florida. David Allen has had many jobs, in fact he claims to have had 35 different occupations before the age of 35. Among the diverse list of careers, Mr. Allen has held jobs as a magician, karate teacher, landscaper, glass-blowing lathe operator, U-Haul dealer and moped salesman among many others. He began in the field of “Productivity Enhancement” in the 1980s when he was contracted by Lockheed to design a program for executives and managers.

David Allen is the founder of the David Allen Company, which focuses on productivity and executive coaching. Allen has written two books, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, which describes his productivity program and Ready for Anything: 52 Productivity Principles for Work and Life, a collection of newsletter articles he has written.
